June 2026 Chapter Meeting
June 8, 2026
12:00 pm - 1:00 pm
Join us for our next GA Chapter ASSP meeting on Monday, June 8th, 2026!
Rebekah Smith from Breakthrough Global will be presenting on Recognizing Drift: How Pressure Changes Decisions, Communication, and Risk Before an Incident Occurs
Most incidents do not begin with a dramatic failure. They begin with small changes that seem reasonable in the moment. Communication becomes shorter. Workarounds become normal. Assumptions replace clarification. Teams adapt to pressure without realizing conditions have changed.
In this interactive session, attendees will explore how operational pressure influences judgment, communication, and execution long before performance metrics or incident reports reveal a problem. Through practical examples and discussion, participants will learn how to recognize early indicators of drift, identify where risk is quietly accumulating, and use simple questions to improve alignment before small issues compound into larger consequences.
Attendees will leave with practical tools they can immediately use with supervisors, crews, and teams to strengthen communication, improve situational awareness, and support safer decision making in dynamic environments.
Rebekah Smith is the founder of Breakthrough Global and creator of The Crisis Commanderâ„¢ framework. She works with leaders operating in high consequence environments where safety, risk, operations, and decision making intersect.
Drawing from her background in aviation, organizational leadership, and personal experience navigating life threatening crises, Rebekah helps leaders recognize how pressure affects communication, judgment, and execution before performance begins to degrade. Her work focuses on helping organizations identify subtle shifts in conditions, strengthen decision quality, and maintain alignment when the stakes are high.
