February Virtual Meeting

This meeting will be 100% Virtual via Teams and Jointly held with the Society of Fire Protection Engineers. 

The SFPE GAC, jointly with ASSP – GA Chapter, are pleased to have “Jim Skelton – McGriff Insurance” who will be speaking at our February meeting.

Presentation title: Commercial Underwriting – Where have we been and where are we going?

Presentation Summary: A basic understanding of the underwriting process from a historical perspective, current issues affecting underwriting decisions and where underwriting is anticipated to head into the future.  Will discuss various aspects of issues affecting those underwriting decisions and the information needed to properly underwrite an exposure.

Presenter’s Bio: A risk control consultant for over 40 yrs having worked both on the carrier side as well as the agency side handling fire protection hazard assessments and sprinkler system design along with formulating recommendations related to both property and casualty exposures.  A Certified Fire Protection Specialist with a B.S. in Industrial Technology from Illinois State University, he also maintains an Associate in Risk Management, Associate in Loss Control Management and is a Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter from the Insurance Institute of America.  Currently employed by McGriff Insurance Services, a Marsh McLennan Agency Company, he has been a member of the SFPE since 1998.
