Safety Engineer

As a Safety Engineer, you will work closely with production leaders, team members, contractors, and suppliers to identify risks, prevent injuries, and ensure compliance with OSHA regulations and company safety standards. This is an excellent opportunity for a safety professional who enjoys being actively engaged on the manufacturing floor, solving complex challenges, and leading continuous improvement initiatives.

What You’ll Do

  • Conduct safety risk assessments and perform daily safety observation tours.
  • Investigate workplace incidents, conduct root cause analyses, and implement corrective actions.
  • Support Serious Injury & Fatality (SIF) analysis, reporting, and prevention efforts.
  • Evaluate equipment, machinery, and work areas to ensure compliance with safety standards and regulations.
  • Manage contractor safety requirements and support contractor compliance through ISNetworld.
  • Develop and deliver safety orientation training for contractors, vendors, and suppliers.
  • Collaborate with production leadership and safety committees to proactively address safety concerns.
  • Track and monitor corrective actions to ensure long-term effectiveness.
  • Support safety communications, employee training programs, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Champion and strengthen a culture of safety across all manufacturing operations.

What We’re Looking For

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Environmental Health & Safety (EHS), Occupational Safety, or a related field.
  • Experience performing safety-related functions within a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations and workplace safety standards.
  • Experience with risk assessments, incident investigations, and root cause analysis.
  • Understanding of contractor safety programs and safety committee participation.
  • Knowledge of Serious Injury & Fatality (SIF) processes and corrective action management.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Teams, and Outlook.
  • Strong communication, organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with ISNetworld contractor management systems.
  • Professional safety certifications such as ASP, CSP, CHST, OSHT, or equivalent.
  • Automotive manufacturing or heavy industrial manufacturing experience.
