
- Duties / Responsibilities / Employment Background: Reporting directly to the Chief Safety Officer, the Safety Manager oversees and manages the company’s comprehensive safety programs to ensure a safe and compliant work environment across all facilities. This role is responsible for leading safety training initiatives, conducting audits and inspections, managing regulatory compliance, and driving continuous improvement in safety performance.
- Key responsibilities: Include conducting hazard identification and risk assessments company-wide; developing and managing Spill Prevention and Response Plans; leading the Safety Committee; administering new-hire and ongoing safety training; overseeing occupational health programs (respirator clearance, audiograms, fit-for-duty evaluations, Hepatitis B vaccines); managing the Drug and Alcohol Testing Program; monitoring Powered Industrial Truck (PIT) safety compliance; conducting monthly safety inspections; maintaining assessments for PPE, noise exposure, lead, LOTO, HazCom, confined spaces, and lone working; leading incident investigations; managing DOT compliance for the commercial fleet; ensuring OSHA and MSHA reporting and recordkeeping compliance; and overseeing contractor and subcontractor safety compliance.
- The role requires a minimum of 5 years of relevant safety experience. A Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety & Health, Environmental Science, Physical Sciences, or a related field is preferred. ASP or CSP certification and Advanced First Aid certification are strongly preferred. A valid driver’s license with a clean driving record is required. Occasional overnight travel (<10%) is required.

- Salary Range: $75,000- $90,000 annually (commensurate with experience and qualifications)
